This series of paintings started 20 years ago with a week spent at Arthur Boyd’s property in Bundanon on the Shoalhaven river. After Arthur and Yvonne Boyd’s extraordinary gift of bequeathing the property to the state in 1993 it has been transformed over the years and very recently has had another major improvement and addition. In light of this and having the time, in the past year, to reflect on some of my past works I wanted to bring these paintings to life again. In some of them I painted artists who are no longer with us and this made it all the more important to share.
New paintings have grown out of these and merged with recent observations from my time spent, like so many, close to home. Harbour foreshore walks, park days and country visits…
